1. WATCH YOUR _____________ (10:20)

Don’t eavesdrop on others– you may hear your servant laughing at you.  For you know how often you yourself have laughed at others.”  (Ecc. 7:21,22)

In the same way, the tongue is a small thing that makes grand speeches. But a tiny spark can set a great forest on fire. And the tongue is a flame of fire. It is a whole world of wickedness, corrupting your entire body. It can set your whole life on fire, for it is set on fire by hell itself. (James 3:5-6) (NLT)

2. MANAGE YOUR ___________________ (10:20)

-Matthew 12:34-37

A hot-tempered man starts fights and gets into all kinds of trouble.” (Proverbs 16:32)

Those who control their anger have great understanding; those with a hasty temper do foolish things.” (Proverbs 14:29)  (Ecc. 7:8, 9, Galatians 5:22-23)

3. COMMIT TO ______________________ (4:7-9)

4. _____________ WITH THE LORD (12: 1, 6-7, 13)

  • When you link with the Lord you move from being forgotten to having a new ____________________!

God sent Him (Jesus) to buy freedom for us who were slaves to the law, so that He could adopt us as His very own children.  And because you Gentiles have become His children, God has sent the Spirit of His Son into your hearts, and now you can call God your dear Father (Abba). (Galatians 4:5,6)

  • When you link with the Lord you move from being forgotten to having a new _____________________!

-Acts 9:1-19

  • When you link with the Lord you move from being forgotten to having a new __________________ address! (I Peter 1:3-5)

God, I want a relationship with You. I believe that you sent Your son, Jesus, to make that relationship possible. I believe that Jesus died on the cross to pay the price for my sins. Today, I receive Jesus as my Saviour and Lord. Thank you forgiving my sins. Thank you for my new home in heaven.  Thank you for my new family. And thank you for being my Father …my Abba. Today, I choose to link up with You!

Yet to all who received Him (Jesus), to those who believed in His name, He gave the right to become children of God. (John 1:12)

Digging Deeper

Q1: Did you have a “best friend” when you were growing up? If so, describe who that person was and what your relationship was like.

Q2: Read Ecclesiastes 4:7-12.  What is the “big idea” that the Lord is trying to communicate to us through that passage?  What speaks to your heart?

Q3: Fellow believers are described as being your brothers and sisters.  How should this designation impact the way you relate to fellow Christians.

Q4: Read Proverbs 27:17.  What are some ways that relationships have “sharpened” you?

Q5: Pastor Dave mentioned that when we link with the Lord it opens the door to having a new Father, family and home. Which of these three ideas excites you the most? Why?

Q6: Ecclesiastes 1:4,11 and 9:14-15 suggest that people probably won’t remember us.  How should that truth impact the way you live your life?

Q7: Heaven is going to be a place of incredible reunion.  Who are you looking forward to seeing? Why?
