Part way through our morning service, our ushers will come to the front in order to “take up the offering.” As followers of Christ, we believe that God has given us all that we have and it is an act of worship to give a portion of it back to Him. As well, because we are a charitable organization, we run solely on the donations we receive throughout the year. All of our ministries – from running our building, buying supplies for children’s programs, supporting missionaries and paying our own staff salaries – are paid for through these donations. Some people in our congregation donate through electronic fund transfer (EFT) and others place money in the offering plate as it is passed around.
As a visitor, you are welcome to contribute if you wish, but don’t feel obligated to donate. We are happy to have you attend either way!
“Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work” (2 Corinthians 9:6–8).
