DMT 2015

Dominican Mission Team 2 (DMT 2) – July 2015
We give God the glory as our church sent a team to the Dominican Republic to minister to the local people, in support of the Samaritan Foundation (SF) ministry.

DMT 2 was a 10-day mission trip with the participation of seven church members. As per the first DMT, the mission work consisted of a house building in the morning and ministry work in the afternoon. It was wonderful to finish the house and to have it dedicated to a young needy family. It is a family of 5: husband, wife and 3 wonderful children of 12 (girl), 9 (girl) and 6 (boy) years old. Some of the ministry works consisted of: visit of the Sosua Rehab centre; children games / VBS in local communities; and non-sewing classes to the women at pregnancy centre and local SF community.

We thank our church family and all the people who prayed and financially supported us for this wonderful mission trip. God loves and cares for people and He used us in demonstrating His love to the people in the Dominican Republic. Each team members has been affected one way or another by participating in this short-term mission. We give God the glory! (Psm 96:3).

Thank you! Gracias!

Here are a few testimonies:

  • Alta Vista Baptist Church dedication was such a timely blessing. The home of the new people was probably one of the worst I have ever seen. This family has been waiting 3 years for their name to be chosen. Praise God they will be moving soon. (from the Samaritan Foundation Facebook page, 23 Jul 2015).
  • God taught me how important it is to rest in Him and to walk in the path, obediently. Eph 2:10 “For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” I saw this scripture fulfilled.
  • I realized that we have a HUGE house and how blessed we are. I was reminded again, how precious running water is.
  • What a mighty God we serve! He cares so much to send a church group to the DR to help them with a house & ministry. I learn to think about others and not me, it’s better to give than to receive. Praise God for His love and mercy.
