God gave all believers spiritual gifts. No one gift is better than any other. Each serves a different purpose – a divine purpose – in God’s plan for His church. The Bible uses the analogy of a body to describe the church and each member of the body has a different role to play – a significant role – in order for the whole to function properly.
Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God’s grace in its various forms. If anyone speaks, he should do it as one speaking the very words of God. If anyone serves, he should do it with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ. To him be the glory and the power for ever and ever. Amen. (1 Peter 4:10–11)
To identify your spiritual gifts, you must be a Christian and believe that God has blessed you with one or more gifts through the Holy Spirit. If you are unsure about what spiritual gifts you possess, take some time to pray about it and perhaps read through our short list to see if one of them makes you say “that sounds like me!”
Once you discover your gift(s), you need to be willing to use them to do the work for which God has equipped you. Please speak to one of our elders or leaders to see where you can serve. Also, check out the list of our most pressing ministry needs.
