Digging Deeper

Q1: If the Lord granted you one wish, what would you ask Him for?

Q2: Read I Kings 3:5-13.  Why do you think Solomon asked for a discerning heart (wisdom)?  What might have influenced his decision to ask for that?

Q3: If you had to come up with a simple definition of wisdom, what would you say?

Q4: Read Proverbs 8:22-30. How does Lady Wisdom describe herself?  How does this passage shape your perspective on what wisdom is and what wisdom does?

Q5: Think about a time in your life when you needed guidance and direction.  Did you seek God’s wisdom?  If so, what did that look like in practical terms?

Q6: Read Proverbs 9:1-6.  How is Lady Wisdom’s invitation and provision described in these verses?  How might that picture of wisdom impact how you pursue wisdom today?

Q7: Read James 3:13-18.  What are one or two truths about wisdom that you can apply to your life situations right now? 

Q8: Read through the chapter of Proverbs that corresponds to today’s date.  What verse(s) challenged you, encouraged you, convicted you or blessed you personally?
