Digging Deeper
Q1: Have you ever been on a “date”? If so, describe one of your best date memories. How about a worst date memory?
Q2: Pastor David summarized Ruth 1 with the word “bitterness” and Ruth 2 with the word “Boaz”. What word would you use to describe Ruth chapter 3? What word would you use to define this current “chapter” of your life? Explain.
Q3: There is a lot of emphasis today on outward appearance. As Christians, we need a biblical and balanced approach to this issue. Read the following passages and come up with your own “Biblical Beauty Principles”. I Peter 3:3-4, Song of Solomon 4:1-7, I Corinthians 6:19-20.
Q4: Can you think of a time in your life when you longed for something and discovered, in the process, that some things are worth waiting for? If so, describe what it was you were waiting for and what it was like when you finally received it.
Q5: We are immersed in a sexually permissive society. What do the following verses teach about sexual purity? I Corinthians 6:12-20; 7:1-5, Proverbs 5:1-14-23, Galatians 5:16-25.
Q6: Pastor David noted that hope in the future gives you power in the present. Have you experienced the power to “keep on keeping on” that hope provides? If so, explain.
Q7: Read I Peter 1:3-9. What “hope ropes” do you see in this passage that you can hang onto as you face the challenges of life?
