Lord Jesus, I trust you as my Saviour.  I surrender to You as my Lord.  I want to hear from You. Help me to discern Your voice. And, when You speak, help me to respond quickly. Forgive me for fence-sitting. Rid me of all excuses when it comes to obeying Your voice. Help me to walk by faith instead of being controlled by fear.  Lord Jesus, I want to know You more. Enable me to hear Your call.  Empower me to obey Your call. Amen.

Digging Deeper

describe the situation and what happened.

Q2: Read Matthew 7:224-27.  What does the text indicate that distinguished the two builders? How does that relate to what God considers important on our journey?

Q3: Have you “heard” God’s speak to you while reading His Word?  If so, explain.

Q4: God’s promises are often based on a premise.  Read the following passages and identity the both the promise and the premise in each:  Isaiah 26:3, Psalm 37:3-5, Is. 40:31, Matthew 11:28-29,               II Cor. 12:9-10, Philippians 4:6-9, James 1:5; 4:7, I John 1:9

Q5: Has there ever been a time in your life when your relationship with God grew deeper when he “transplanted” and “isolated” you? If so, describe.

Q6: Read Ezra 3:1-3, 6. The returning exiles rebuilt and began to use the temple altar before they rebuilt the foundation of the temple.  What does that teach us about God’s priorities?

Q7: “Obeying God’s call always impacts other people.”  Can you think of an example in your life that illustrates this principle?  If so, explain.

Q8: Study John 8:49-59.  What does this teach us about Abraham and his journey of faith?
