Q7: Will you _______ and _____________ in heaven?

(Gen. 18, Ps. 78:25, Gen. 18, John 21:4-14, Matt. 8:1,, Luke 22:18, Acts 1:4, Rom.  14:17, Rev. 2:7; 9:9)

And I confer on you a kingdom, just as my Father conferred one on me, so that you may eat and drink at my table in my kingdom and sit on thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel. (Luke 22:29-30)

Then the angel said to me, “Write this: Blessed are those who are invited to the wedding supper of the Lamb!” … (Revelation 19:9a)

Q11: Will you go _______________ to heaven when you die, or will you go to some sort of _______________ place?

The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. After he had provided purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven. (Hebrews 1:3)

So we are always confident, even though we know that as long as we live in these bodies we are not at home with the Lord…Yes, we are fully confident, and we would rather be away from these bodies, for then we will be at home with the Lord. (1 Cor.5:6,8)

Q12: Can you ________ for _______ you are going to heaven?

And this is what God has testified: He has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. So whoever has God’s Son has life; whoever does not have his Son does not have life. I write this to you who believe in the Son of God, so that you may know you have eternal life. (I John 5:11-13)

  • God has given you a gift called eternal life
  • This gift of eternal life is in Jesus
  • If you have Jesus, you have eternal life
  • You have Jesus by believing in Him
  • If you have Jesus, then you know you have eternal life

Digging Deeper

(For personal study, family devotions or Care group use)

Q1: Has heaven been “showing up” in your own devotional bible reading?  If so, where?  How has your awareness of heaven impacted your reading of scripture?

Q2: Read Revelation 2:7.  What do you think we will be eating?  How do you think this fruit affect us in eternity?

Q3: How does the prospect of discovering new things in heaven strike you?  What are some areas of learning that you might want to explore?

Q4: Pastor David said that we can know for sure that you are going to heaven.  If someone asked you about your hope of heaven and why you are confident that you are going there, what would you say?  What passages of scripture would you use to back up what you are saying?

Q5: Read I Timothy 4:1-6.  What are some things that the Lord has given you on earth that you particularly enjoy?  What do you think those good things might look in heaven?
