I.  GOD’S WILL IS _______________________

  • The Father sovereignly ____________. (John 6:37,39)

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ. For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight.  In love he predestined us to be adopted as his sons through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will. 

(Ephesians 1:3-5)

Digging Deeper

Q1:  Have you ever experienced or witnessed the trauma of NOT being chosen? What kinds of painful emotions did that neglect/rejection produce?  

Q2: Pastor David said that if you are a Christian you are hand-picked gift from God the Father to God the Son!  How does that truth impact you? 

Q3: God is a teacher.  We are to be students; listeners and learners.  What do the following verses from Proverbs teach us about being good students?

Q4: When you think of security, what kinds of issues or images come to mind?   Why is security important to you?

Q6:  Why do you think people in general have such a hard time “surrendering” to the Lord?  Why do we, as believers, sometimes struggle with the same issue?

Q7: Read Isaiah 35.  How does this passage encourage your heart as you think about your decision to journey on the narrow road?
